the-collection-of-oddities: This is Rosalia Lombardo. She died of pneumonia in 1920 at the young age of only 2. Apart from her paper-like skin, Rosalia looks as if she is only sleeping. She is remarkably preserved.  Some believe her “eternal life” was due to a special embalming process done at the time. Although we may never be certain, for her body is unable to leave her small casket. So, for now, she will remain a pretty girl in a glass case in Italy. (Some people are saying France now. But I heard Italy.)
